SPOTLIGHT ON PUPPET PARENT: Hon. Simone McGurk MLA

3 February, 2023

Celebrating 10 years as a Puppet Parent, Minister Simone McGurk adopted “Ruffy”, soon after she was elected as the MLA for Fremantle in 2013.

Simone, like many of our other Puppet Parents, has shown exceptional generosity towards Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and through her support of our Adopt a Puppet program has become one of our greatest advocates.

“I am a huge fan of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and supporting their work as a Puppet Parent is a delightful way to acknowledge the value their creativity brings to families all over Western Australia. It’s been ten years since I first adopted Ruffy. I’ve grown very fond of him, and he hasn’t aged a bit!“

Adopting a Puppet is a fun and rewarding way to support Spare Parts achieve our ambitious creative goals of bringing joy to countless young lives.

Our current donors range from parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, sisters and brothers to board members, local businesses, and members of parliament like Simone.

If you would like to become part of the Spare Parts family and enable us to enrich the lives of children and families everywhere – adopt a puppet today!
