Marionettes & Memories

RETURNING IN 2026

Marionettes & Memories has wrapped up for 2025. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

We run these sessions regularly and plan to return in 2026. Keep an eye on this page or join our mailing list for early access to future dates.

ABOUT

We warmly invite seniors in our community to join us for Marionettes and Memories – a relaxed, hands-on puppetry session over a cuppa and good company.

Led by our Associate Director Michael Barlow, the experience includes a playful introduction to marionettes using pieces from Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s treasured collection. You’ll have the chance to try the puppets yourself and explore how they move, express, and connect.

The session also includes a memory-sharing activity inspired by curious objects selected by Spare Parts, with participants working together with Michael to bring to life a few favourite stories using marionettes.

Tea, coffee, and biscuits provided.

Acknowledgement of Country

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre respectfully acknowledges the Whadjuk Noongar people as the traditional owners and custodians of the unceded land on which we work. As we tour our work across these vast lands, we pay our respect to all First Nations elders, past and present. We celebrate their continuing connection and contribution to culture, country and community, and thank all First Nations peoples for their wisdom in caring for the land, the sky, the rivers and the sea.
