Pullings the Strings: A Technical Tour of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre

28 March, 2023

Calling all theatre enthusiasts and curious students!

Are you considering a career in theatre, or have you ever wondered what happens behind the tech desk during a show? Then this event is an absolute must-attend! Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s technical department, led by our experienced Stage Manager.

You will have the opportunity to explore the sound and lighting control rooms, learn about the specialised equipment used in puppetry, and gain insight into the various technical aspects that make a performance come alive. Our Stage Manager will guide you through the process of setting up a show, cueing music and sound effects, and executing lighting changes. Understanding the technical aspects of theatre is crucial for anyone who wants to pursue a career in this industry.

Following the tour, you’ll be treated to an evening performance of our brand new show, Show Day, where you will appreciate the performance even more after seeing the behind-the-scenes magic.
