For many of our audience members, we are their first live performing arts experience, and we understand the important role that creative experiences play in the educational and emotional development of young people.
A visit to our theatre gives students the opportunity to experience the magic of live puppetry up close, discover new perspectives and connect with stories in a different way. Our performances encourage empathy, resilience, creative thinking and storytelling, while creating a shared experience that students and teachers can enjoy together and remember long after the curtain closes.

Plan Your Excursion
We’re committed to making your school excursion a memorable one and are happy to answer any questions you have. Here are a few basics to get you started.
- JUMP ON THE TRAIN
The theatre is a short walk from the Claremont station, making it a hassle-free journey for school excursions. If your school is located along the train line, why not jump on the train?
- TAKE A BUS
Arrive stress-free by taking a bus. There is plenty of onsite parking including bus bays, so can drop your students off right at our doorstep.
- Why not stay for lunch?
Our theatre is located at Claremont Showground and there are plenty of grassed areas to sit down before or after the show. School bags and lunch boxes may be stored in the pavilion area during the show.
- Access
Our puppet theatre is committed to providing accessibility for all visitors. We offer wheelchair ramps, accessible seating, and facilities to ensure that everyone can enjoy our performances to the fullest.
- Public Liability Insurance
Upon booking you will receive a copy of our public liability insurance certificate and evacuation plan.
- PRE SHOW ACTIVITIES
Take advantage of our captivating pre-show activities, thoughtfully designed to align with the themes of the featured performance. Located in the adjacent pavilion, these activities will immerse students in the world of puppetry, fostering creativity and a deeper understanding of the show they’re about to enjoy.

Keep the conversation going back in the classroom with our Creative Learning Packs
Our Creative Learning Packs are developed by teachers, for teachers, with curriculum-linked activities, discussion prompts and creative exercises to support learning before and after the performance. These resources help educators build on the themes explored during the incursion, encouraging students to make connections with their own experiences and classroom learning.

Get Hands-On with a Puppetry Workshop
Why not make the most of our visit with a hands-on puppetry workshop at your school?
Led by our experienced puppeteers and teaching artists, these interactive sessions invite students to discover how puppets are made, brought to life and used to tell stories. Through creative making, movement and performance, students develop practical skills while building confidence, collaboration and creative thinking.
Available as a standalone school incursion or alongside selected touring performances, our workshops offer a fun and engaging way to connect the performing arts with classroom learning.
