Puppet Playtime July 2024

Puppet Playtime July 2024

Join us for Puppet Playtime!

Puppet Playtime gives children aged 3 to 5 the opportunity to engage in a new experience of storytelling and puppetry. Each session features a popular children’s book, with an acclaimed WA performer presenting the story in their unique performance style.  This can include puppetry, musical accompaniment, object theatre, movement and dance, and more. The world of puppetry is vast, and attendees will learn about a new element of puppetry each month. Each session, children will craft a puppet designed by our talented puppetry professionals.

This month’s feature story is The Bunyip of Berkeley’s Creek by Jenny Wagner.

About The Bunyip of Berkeley’s Creek

A curious creature emerges from the depths of Berkeley’s Creek, eager to uncover its true identity. Seeking answers, the bunyip embarks on a quest, encountering various animals and a sceptical scientist along the way. With delightful illustrations and a powerful message of self-acceptance, this enchanting tale reminds children that true beauty lies in embracing their own uniqueness.
