Celebrating six months of puppet playtime!

8 August, 2023

Since February we have welcomed over 500 children aged 3 to 5 to our Creative Learning Centre to experience Puppet Playtime.

Lovingly designed for curious minds and busy hands, the program introduces young children to the world of puppetry and encourages their curiosity, imagination and social and emotional wellbeing.

Directed by acclaimed puppetry artist Bec Bradley, Puppet Playtime features popular story books brought to life by talented performers and hands on creative learning activities and puppet making. Developed in partnership with Telethon Kids Institute, the program embeds best practice social and emotional wellbeing content for children and families.

“Both my children loved the event – from the presenter and assistants to the activity planned. They really enjoyed playing with their puppets when we got home too. Thank you!”

Spare Parts thanks our Principal Program Partner Minderoo Foundation for their investment in Puppet Playtime. Minderoo has enabled our program team to attend valuable early-years professional learning events such as the Early Childhood Learning and Development Conference and Thrive by Five’s recent Early Learning and Disability Symposium.

We are proud to collaborate with the Minderoo team to directly support children in their early years to develop and learn, so they can reach their full potential.

We celebrate their continuing connection and contribution to culture, country and community, and thank all First Nations peoples for their wisdom in caring for the land, the sky, the rivers and the sea.
