This inspiration tale, part truth, part myth but mostly inspiration, follows Bandicoot, Koala, and a very fun-loving Frill Necked Lizard as they share the story of a woman who transforms her world to bring about hope and happiness for herself and those around her.
The 8-week tour kicks off in our home state of Western Australia, with the first performances scheduled for May 2nd at the Queens Park Theatre in Geraldton. With performances scheduled at 9 different venues across 5 states and territories, audiences nationwide will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in this magical experience.
Originally produced for Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s 40th Anniversary, The One Who Planted Trees debuted in 2021 with a triumphant three-week run at our theatre in Fremantle. It received standing ovations and critical acclaim, leading to its recognition as Outstanding New Work at the Performing Arts Western Australia Awards in 2022.
The show serves as both a beacon of hope and a call to action, reminding us of the profound impact that one person can have on their surroundings. As a delightful and inspiring tale, it serves as a joyous springboard for meaningful discussions about our world and the environment we all cherish.
