Meet the Cast of Reach for the Sky

16 December, 2025

Meet the artists creating a world of music, movement and play!

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s joyful new early childhood production Reach for the Sky premieres this January at Fremantle Town Hall, bringing together three dynamic artists to create an immersive theatre experience for children aged 3 to 7 and their favourite adults.

Running from 5–24 January 2026, Reach for the Sky is a standout school holiday activity for families looking for playful, engaging things to do over the summer. With two shows daily at 10am and 1pm, the production blends puppetry, live music, clowning and movement in a world designed especially for little bodies that love to move.

Bec Bradley
A long-time Spare Parts Puppet Theatre collaborator and co-creator of Reach for the Sky, Bec brings more than two decades of experience as a performer and theatre maker. Known for her work across puppetry, music and physical theatre, Bec has performed in many Spare Parts repertoire shows since 2005 and made her directorial debut for the company in 2024. Her playful, sensitive approach is central to shaping the show’s joyful and imaginative world.

Oliver Hughes
Returning to Spare Parts Puppet Theatre after his energetic performance in Hare Brain (2024), Oli brings humour, warmth and boundless enthusiasm to the stage. A proud Ballardong Noongar performer and award-winning emerging artist, Oliver has worked extensively across theatre in WA and continues to build an exciting career following his recent graduation from WAAPA. His connection with young audiences shines throughout the production.

Pavan Kumar Hari
Making his Spare Parts debut, Pavan is the composer for Reach for the Sky and performs live during each show. A multidisciplinary artist working across music, performance and composition, Pavan is known for his vibrant and emotive musical language. His live score responds to the energy in the room, helping guide children through the show’s wordless journey of curiosity, feeling and imaginative flight.

About the Show

Designed as a gentle, immersive experience, Reach for the Sky invites children and adults to sit together on bouncy balls arranged close to the performers. As the story unfolds, audiences are surrounded by live music, flying puppets and playful sensory moments, including bubbles, mist and a spectacular ball-drop finale.

Presented in partnership with the City of Fremantle and supported by Minderoo Foundation, the production marks Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s first major work created especially for early childhood audiences. Running at just 50 minutes, it’s an ideal introduction to theatre for young children and a perfect summer holiday outing.

Reach for the Sky plays at Fremantle Town Hall from 5–24 January 2026.
