Guildford Grammar helps bring Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge to Regional WA

14 August, 2026

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre partners with Guildford Grammar School to share Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge with communities across regional Western Australia.

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is proud to announce Guildford Grammar School as the official Touring Partner for the 2026 regional tour of Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge, helping the much-loved production reach 10 Western Australian communities over seven weeks.

Following its acclaimed 2024 premiere and a three-month schools tour across WA, the production will embark on its first regional venues tour from 17 August, bringing children, families and older community members together for a live theatre experience filled with imaginative puppetry, humour and heart.

Adapted from the beloved book by Mem Fox and Julie Vivas, Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge tells the story of Wilfrid and his friendship with 96-year-old Miss Nancy as he sets out to discover what a memory is after learning she has lost hers.

The production also invites local seniors and grandparents to join the cast, creating a unique intergenerational experience in each community.

Katie Henebery, Executive Director of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre says:

“What I love about Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge is the way it celebrates unexpected friendship and honours the older people in our communities. It’s a story we’re incredibly proud to share. We’re thrilled to partner with Guildford Grammar School to bring the production to regional Western Australia, build stronger connections in each community, and deepen the relationships at the heart of the show.”

Amy Kilkenny, Marketing Manager of Guildford Grammar says:

“Friendship, community, belonging and play bring the classic Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge to life on stage and sit at the heart of the partnership between Guildford Grammar and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre. We are delighted to support this beautiful story as it travels through regional Western Australia, visiting many of the communities that are home to our boarders and their families.”

The seven-week tour will visit Cue, Geraldton, Port Hedland, Busselton, Beverley, Manjimup, Harvey, Kwinana, Mandurah and Margaret River.
